FIRST YOU MUST HAVE DOWNLOADED THE DEMO VESION OF THE JEPE GAME. To start a map go into notepad and paste the folowing in.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> <map name="(name of town)" height="(height of town)" width="(width of town)"> <player x="9" y="2" recty="1"/> <follow x="10" y="2" recty="1"/> <background fill="tiles/(place background pic name here)">(place other background tiles here)</background><objects>(place objects here)</objects> </map>
In the "( )" type in what it says to do. Once that's done save it in the folder MAPS, BUT at the end of the name put .map (or it won't become a map file). After that to test the map go the the config.XML doc and open it with notepad. In the middle of <startwith> and </startwith> change it to (your map name).map and save it. Once that is done play the demo and it should have your map to play on insted of the creators map. Now you can change around the map in notepad and make your own world in JEPE.

Ok the code is from an already existing map, i just gutted out the objects, background and all that. A background pic, just an image for you background like dirt or grass. You don't need a background pic you can just delete the words fill="tiles/(place background pic name here) but not the > at the end, you need that.
